Transportation and Water Leaders Step Into Key Market Roles

CHA announced today it has named two new Business Practice Leaders in its Infrastructure Sector. Bob Talbot, PE, has been named Vice President and Business Practice Leader for the Highway & Rail Business Practice. Nelson Perez-Jacome, PE, has been named Vice President and Business Practice Leader for the South Water Resources Business Practice focusing on Florida and Georgia.

Bob, based in CHA’s Hartford, CT office, succeeds Lee Ecker, PE, who will retire at the end of October after more than 36 years of service to the company. Nelson joined CHA this summer and is based in Miami, Florida.

During his nearly 20 years of leadership at CHA, Bob has led numerous highway and rail projects throughout the northeast and beyond. He has over 35 years of experience in the highway and rail arena, which includes designing and managing civil, highway, and interchange design projects, including more than two decades of project management for large multi-disciplinary projects.

Nelson has more than 15 years of experience in public works consulting, engineering design, and infrastructure management with Florida water teams. His experience includes developing innovative stormwater treatment systems to address sea level rise, flooding, and water quality, and working with municipalities to develop tailored solutions to address capital planning and operational needs associated with water, wastewater, and stormwater systems.

Bob holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of New Hampshire. Nelson earned his Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Florida International University, and his Master of Engineering in environmental engineering from the University of Florida. Both new Business Practice Leaders are licensed Professional Engineers.
