In a move that will strengthen its foothold in the Southwest while enhancing its experience in the health care field, CHA announced it has opened an office in Houston, TX.
The Albany, NY-based, full-service engineering firm selected "Space City" for its 27th office because it supports the company's new strategic teaming arrangement with Garner-Fritsche Engineering (GFE) — a provider of consulting engineering for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and low voltage systems for the health care, higher education, science and technology, and commercial industries.
"We are excited to expand into one of the nation's leading corporate centers and further develop our partnership with GFE," said CHA President and Chief Executive Officer Raymond J. Kinley, Jr. "Both companies look forward to working with one another as they seek to gain experience in new markets."
As a result of its move to the nation's fourth largest city, CHA will now have access to 29 Fortune 500 companies, numerous multinational and domestic companies, and the world's largest medical center (Texas Medical Center).
CHA plans to leverage GFE's expertise in the health care market. Since its founding in 2006, GFE has worked on an array of health care projects throughout the Southwestern U.S., including Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital (400,000-square-foot renovation project), Atlantic Healthcare Group, Gulf States Long Term Acute Care Hospital (a 70,000-square-foot new hospital), and Cy-Fair Cancer Center (11,500-square-foot, single-story cancer treatment center).
At the same time, GFE's 22-person staff will tap into CHA's experience providing higher- and secondary-educational institutions with engineering services ranging from campus-wide storm water management plans to state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor sports complexes. CHA's projects have taken place at institutions such as Miami University (Ohio), Duke University, the College of William & Mary, and the University of Massachusetts.
"This arrangement is a win-win for everyone, particularly our clients," noted Steve Fritsche, a principal with GFE. "Both of our firms can now extend a wider range of professional design and construction services in the growing Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston markets, particularly in the health care and educational facility sectors."
Fritsche went on to add, "Our firms share many of the same business philosophies: an emphasis on client service, a commitment to quality and continuous improvement, and a dedication to the professional growth of our staff."
