At CHA, we believe safety is a core value that guides all activities. It is our strong belief that safety is everyone’s responsibility founded on the principle of a people first safety culture. CHA applies a risk- and behavior-based system that sets the core requirements for the planning and conduct of our activities but also relies on our employees and frontline managers/supervisors to assess their risks at the time of the work and implement control measures before proceeding with any activity. We also reinforce the use of a dynamic situational awareness approach known as “STAR” prior to conducting work activities: Stop; Think; Act; Review.
