CHA provided comprehensive master planning services for the 26-acre Crestview Park. As part of the town’s implementation of its 2025 Parks and Recreation Master Plan, the project focused on developing a site-specific master plan aligned with North Carolina Parks and Recreation Trust Fund (PARTF) requirements to guide phased park improvements and position the town for future state and federal funding opportunities.
The effort included a detailed evaluation of existing park facilities, consideration of aging amenities, and integration of evolving community needs, including potential connections to the Purple Martin Greenway system. CHA led a collaborative, community-driven planning process that included stakeholder workshops, surveys, and public engagement to establish a clear vision for the park. The team conducted site analysis, GIS mapping, and an environmental assessment to inform planning decisions, followed by the development of concept alternatives and refinement through public input and coordination with town staff and leadership.
The final master plan, unanimously adopted by the town council, established prioritized improvements, conceptual layouts, cost estimates, and phased implementation strategies, providing Rutherfordton with an actionable roadmap to enhance recreational opportunities, strengthen connectivity, and support long-term community growth and quality of life.
Improvements to a beloved 26-acre park.
