Civica Rx Manufacturing Facility Expansion

Founded in 2018, Civica is a nonprofit pharmaceutical company dedicated to making quality, affordable medicines accessible to all. To further this mission, Civica constructed the 140,000-square-foot Petersburg Manufacturing Facility in Virginia, a state-of-the-art site designed to produce U.S.-made injectable medicines and affordable insulin for millions of Americans.

The facility features three manufacturing bays, a vial line with the capacity to fill 90 million vials annually, and a separate high-speed line for pre-filled syringes and insulin cartridges. Backed by $100 million in federal and private investment, the facility strengthens domestic medicine production, enhances public health resiliency, and supports local economic growth.

CHA supported Civica with asset management services critical to launching and operating the new facility. Our team provided expertise in data validation, system migration, and digital transformation of the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). We also assisted with quality approval staffing and prepared Bay 3 of the manufacturing facility by enrolling all systems into the CMMS, ensuring operational readiness and compliance. This partnership reflects CHA’s role in advancing healthcare infrastructure through collaborative, mission-driven solutions.
