Since 2022, CHA has partnered with the Town of Hingham on the planning, design, and implementation of several high-profile recreation improvements. Faced with deteriorated playing surfaces, significant cracking, and ongoing maintenance challenges, the town turned to CHA to provide design, structural engineering, cost estimating, bidding support, and construction administration services for the reconstruction of the Hingham High School Tennis Courts and Cronin Field Street Hockey Court. CHA developed innovative reconstruction solutions that replaced failing surfaces with state-of-the-art post-tension concrete systems designed to improve performance, extend facility lifespan, and reduce long-term maintenance requirements.
Building on these successes, CHA designed renovations to the Cronin Field Basketball Court, including reconstruction of the court with a post-tensioned concrete playing surface and improvements to site connectivity through new pathways linking the basketball courts to surrounding recreational amenities. Following extensive evaluation of potential sites and public engagement on new pickleball facilities, Carlson Park emerged as the preferred location. CHA is currently advancing the project through final design and construction, helping the town deliver one of its most anticipated new recreation amenities.
Most recently, CHA was selected to reimagine the beloved Cronin Field Playground, a community asset that has served generations of Hingham families. As the existing playground reached the end of its useful life, the town entrusted CHA to design a modern, inclusive, and durable replacement that will create new opportunities for play and social interaction for decades to come.
Through each of these projects, CHA has demonstrated a commitment to understanding Hingham’s vision, engaging its residents, and delivering high-quality recreation facilities that enhance community life.
