Winged Deer Athletic Complex

The 37-acre athletic complex expansion at Winged Deer Park offered another opportunity for CHA to work with the City of Johnson City Parks & Recreation on the park, adding ball fields and support buildings. Nestled on the hills above Watauga Lake, the additional recreational fields offer a welcome reprieve for a parks and recreation complex that was already stretched to capacity.

The expansion includes four lighted synthetic turf baseball/softball/soccer fields, two natural grass soccer fields, a maintenance garage with umpire locker rooms, a central core building for restrooms, concession and scoring, a maintenance building, and 400 new parking spaces. The expansion provides nine baseball/softball fields at Winged Deer Park, enabling the city to continue expanding its offerings for local activities, events, and tournaments.
