Nauset Regional High School

Nauset Regional High School represents the transformation of a beloved campus into a modern learning environment rooted in the character of Cape Cod. Located within the Cape Cod National Seashore, the school serves the communities of Brewster, Eastham, Orleans, and Wellfleet and is one of the few public high schools in the country situated within a national park landscape.

Serving as Owner's Project Manager from feasibility study through construction, CHA helped guide a complex, occupied campus renovation and expansion that balanced modernization with preservation of the school's original identity. The project retained and revitalized much of the existing campus while adding more than 106,000 SF of new construction and renovating over 110,000 SF of existing space. New facilities include a 750-seat Performing Arts Center, dining hall, science and academic building, and centrally located administration building, while renovated spaces feature robotics and innovation labs, a TV studio, research center, black box theater, and updated classrooms.

The redesign strengthens the connection between learning and landscape, preserving the campus's signature courtyards, woodland setting, and outdoor gathering spaces while improving accessibility, safety, and campus circulation. Designed as a Net-Zero Ready facility and constructed to NE-CHPS and LEED certification standards, the project reflects the district's commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
