Tennis, Track and Turf Improvements

Horry County Schools Athletic Facilities Master Plan began with a district-wide vision to elevate athletic opportunities for students across Horry County. Working with district leaders, CHA conducted assessments of all nine high school athletic campuses and developed a long-range master plan focused on creating more consistent, modern athletic facilities throughout the district.

Since 2019, that vision has steadily become reality through a series of phased improvements that have transformed tracks, tennis courts, stadium fields, bleachers, and supporting athletic infrastructure across multiple campuses. Rather than tackling each school independently, the district pursued a coordinated, multi-year approach that balanced priorities, funding, and construction schedules while delivering meaningful improvements year after year. Each phase built on the previous one, expanding access to high-quality facilities and creating a more equitable athletic experience for students throughout the county.

Today, the program has resulted in upgraded competition tracks, new synthetic turf stadium fields, renovated tennis facilities, enhanced spectator amenities, and improved athletic venues at schools across the district. As additional phases continue, the master plan remains a roadmap for strengthening school athletics, supporting student achievement, and creating venues that serve both students and their communities for years to come.
